Yoga for the Mind and Body

About This Activity

This mid week Hatha Yoga class is designed to help improve circulation and flexibility, improve posture and balance, increase strength and muscle tone as well as help reduce stress.  The benefits of Yoga are endless; come see and feel for yourself what Yoga can do for you.  Class begins with centering and warming up.  From there, we transition to sun salutations, standing and seated poses, and balancing poses.  We also do Yoga on the wall and various poses while in a chair.  Finally, the class ends with relaxation.  Prior Yoga experience is not necessary.  The instructor offers modifications to poses as appropriate.  Participants should bring a Yoga mat, a strap, a towel, and water.  Also, please wear light, comfortable clothing and practice Yoga on an empty stomach.  Yoga is more than just a form of exercise.  It is an art that helps to harmonize the mind and body.
