Camp Dean- Michelle Schwartzman-----Paddle the beautiful West Branch of the Susquehanna River with us this summer! We begin our journey in Shawville, PA and paddle about 70 miles to Hyner, PA. This camp offers unique experiences. We pack all our gear into the canoes and all our food in one cooler and several five gallon buckets, which also serve as seats around the campfire. This is a great camp if you’re already an outdoor type person or if you are itching to stretch your comfort zone and try something adventurous! This is “rustic” camping with no running water or electricity. During our trip, we will not only experience God’s beautiful creation through thoughtful, relevant Bible studies but there’s always plenty of fun and friendships that are sure to last a lifetime. Hope to see you on the Susquehanna this summer! Good swimming ability is REQUIRED. Previous canoe experience NOT necessary; learn as we go! Campers arrive at Shawville UMC on Sunday, June 14, between 4-5 p.m. Our takeout will take place at Hyner Bridge (access) about 4 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
