Brief Description

Both courses start and finish at Diamond Teague Park and Docks on the Anacostia River. The 11-mile course will turn around upriver at the New York Avenue Bridge. Recreational class is a shorter 7-mile course. Wounded Warriors are invited to compete for free! The course follows the Anacostia River in both its urban and wooded environs. Enjoy a river's-eye view of hidden gems like the National Arboretum, Kingman Island, and the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.

Additional Information

Registration fees are per boat, not per person. Captains should register here, and the second paddler will sign a consent form on race day. Race participants need to provide their own equipment (boat, paddle, PFD). After the race, enjoy a festival with product demonstrations, exhibitors, food trucks, drinks, and live music at The Yards Park in the the bustling Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District. Canoes will be available for families and recreational users looking to try out a paddle on the river.
