About This Activity

(Ages 13-18) Designed for students with at least 6 months experience on their instrument, this class gives students the opportunity to rock out by exploring popular rock 'n roll music of the past fifty years, and possibly creating their own songs, in a coached, fun environment. All instruments are welcome, and each band will typically consist of guitarists (electric and acoustic), keyboardist, vocalist, bassist, and drummer. Topics covered include ensemble skills, song selection, chart reading, improvisation, songwriting, and performance skills.  Each session meets for 7 weeks, culminating in a recorded performance on the 8th week. Amplifiers, a drumset and an upright piano are provided. Students should bring their own instruments and other gear, as well as a notepad and pencil. Please note: This class is for students ages 13-18.  Levine also offers Rock Bands for ages 8-13 and for adults
