About This Activity

Benefits -

The money raised from the Walnut Festival Run will be donated back to local Walnut Creek Schools.

Course -

Both the 5K and 10K are 100% on paved roads that run through the downtown streets of Walnut Creek.

Note: Strollers and dogs are welcome for the 5K. If you plan to walk the course, please stay close to the right of the course because there will be 10K runners making another loop and running past walkers.

Kid's Fun Run - The run is open to ages 9 and under. It will start immediately after the finish of the 10K.

 

Fees Include -

Custom t-shirt, post race refreshments at finish line expo area, and award ceremony.

 

Awards -

3 deep Male/Female in categories:

6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Top 15 Male/ Female in 5K & 10K receive a "Fastest Fifteen" tech tee shirt

Special prizes for Best Super Hero Costumes

Kid's Fun Run - Finisher medals for all participants in Kid's run.

Great raffle prizes eligible to all runners and additional tickets available for purchase race day.

 

Packet Pick-Up -

All participants may pick-up their race packet and race shirt at Sports Basement, 1881 Ygnacio Valley Rd, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, Thursday - Friday, September 11-12th from 6-9pm. Packets are also available at event site, race morning.

Event schedule and times

Check-In - 6:30 a.m.

 

5K & 10K Run Start - 8:00 a.m.

**Runners are encouraged to start making their way to the start line no later than 7:15 am.**

 

Kid's Fun Run (ages 9 & under) - 9:30 am

**Children are ask to meet near the finish line before the start of the Kid's Run. There will also be a few announcement, to help gather the runners in the appropriate area on Broadway Plaza.**
