The New Albany Walking Classic is the premier event of the New Albany Walking Club. Now in its 5th year, the Walking Classic has become the largest walking-only race in the United States. There are many reasons why the Classic has received numerous accolades.
Packet pickup will be available at The Ohio State University Medical Center Health Expo to be held at the beautiful Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts in New Albany, Ohio 43054. Times: Friday, September 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, September 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All walkers are required to pick up their race packets at the Expo. There is NO race day packet distribution and packets will not be available after the race.
Packet consists of the wicking tech shirt and/or the microfleece sweater, bib number and any other items that will be distributed.
The top five men and women overall finishers will receive beautiful awards. In addition, we are having five-year age group awards this year versus ten-year age groups in previous years so that the number of awards will be doubled. The top three men and women in each age group will receive awards. All awards will be mailed as soon as the final results are validated.
From I-270, take 161 East, exit at New Albany Road, go right, make first left which is Fodor Road and look for parking directions. Parking will be available at the New Albany HS, Market Street Parking areas and other local side streets, etc.
The course is very scenic as you meander through the prestigious New Albany Country Club community and are surrounded by magnificent homes, plush golf courses, and miles of white fences.
The age groups for both men and women are: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 50-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and above.
There will be NO race day REGISTRATION or PACKET PICKUP, so please make sure you get to the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday or Saturday before the event.
