Additional Information
Who would you walk a mile to help?
Would you walk to help a child with autism? A person who is deaf? Someone with multiple sclerosis? How about someone with diabetes complicated by hypoglycemia unawareness or a person with a seizure disorder?
By walking in the 18th Annual Heel and Wheel Walk for Can Do Canines, you could help each of these people build a life-changing relationship with a specially trained dog.
Collect pledges, gather your 2-legged and 4-legged (pet dogs welcome!) family and friends and join us on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Cheshire Park in Minnetonka. Games, entertainment, refreshments and prize drawings will be provided!
Can Do Canines enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with a specially trained dog, often adopted from animal shelters. Our dogs are carefully prepared for life as an assistance dog. Each team is individually trained with special emphasis on the personal needs of the client. Dogs, training, veterinary costs until placement and team instruction are free of charge to our clients.
