Brief Description

Join us for a downtown 1.35-mile dog walk to celebrate 10 years of Blue Dog in Austin!

Blue Dog Rescue is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that works to find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in the Central Texas area. Blue Dog Rescue takes in adoptable dogs from area shelters and fosters them in the homes of volunteers. Over the last 10 years, Blue Dog has saved the lives of over 1,800 dogs in the Austin area, a number that continues to grow.

Bring Your Furry Friend

All dogs must be spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and rabies shots, well-socialized, and on standard 4- or 6-foot leashes (no retractable leashes). Only one dog per adult person. Owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet. Poop bags provided.

Additional Information

After the walk at about 10 am, we'll have refreshments and some fun doggie contests. Do you look like your dog? Does his tail never stop wagging? Does your dog know a cute trick? Come help us celebrate the more than 1,800 lives we have saved. The party starts with the walk and then will continue with Dogtoberfest at The Ghost Room all day, where you will get in for free if you show your race number. Registration and packet pickup will be at Rogue Running (E.5th & San Marcos) 10/2/10 from 9am-2pm and Walk Day 10/3/10 from 7:30am-8:30am.
