What's Included

DHS/FPS Basic Officer Course 64-80 hours (Depends on contract or company) Security Guard Information Manual and hands-on requirement for Protective Service Officers (PSO) who work on government GSA or FPS contracts. Candidates will learn about the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Protective Services division. Ethics and professionalism, communications, the law and the PSO’s authority to detain, use of force and search/seizure, patrolling, reporting writing and response procedures are covered. Additionally, access control, records and report forms, handling special situations like Code ADAM, terrorism, natural disasters, civil disturbances, hostage situations and sabotage/espionage will be learned by PSO’s. PSO’s will also receive certified training in defensive tactics, expandable baton, handcuffing, OC spray, and first aid/CPR/AED. A practice exam will also be given to help prepare PSO’s for the government provided exam. All certification courses and practice test must be successfully completed in order for a candidate to receive a 5A Exhibit. The candidate will have to take the 50 question test, 8 hour orientation course, and attend the X-Ray Machine/Magnetometer certification course provided by the government before they will be recognized by DHS/FPS or GSA as a Protective Service Officer. NOTE: A practice exam will also be given to help prepare PSO’s for the government provided exam. All certification courses and practice test must be successfully completed in order for a candidate to receive a 5A Exhibit. ADVANCED SECURITY OFFICER COURSE (A-SOC)

 COURSE OVERVIEW: The Advanced Security Officer Course is an advanced level security training program conducted within a 5-week duration.  The A-SOC is a comprehensive training program to prepare the security professional for an advanced level position within the security field.  Course instructions will be conveyed through open platform classroom teaching, case-studies, team building exercises, hands-on practical activities and physical training activities. 

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum age of 21 years    High School graduates / GED holders        Experience in security is preferred        U.S. Citizenship may be required

BASIC SECURITY OFFICER COURSE BSOC

 COURSE OVERVIEW: The Basic Security Officer Course is an entry level security training conducted within a 4-week duration.  The B-SOC is a comprehensive training program to prepare the security professional for an entry level position within the security field.  Course instructions will be conveyed through open platform classroom teaching, case-studies, team building exercises, hands-on practical activities and physical training activities.

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:       Minimum age of 18 years       High School graduates/GED holders       No experience required       U.S. Citizenship is not required

 

 

FEDERAL SECURITY OFFICER COURSE FOC

 COURSE OVERVIEW: The Federal Security Officer Course is an advanced level security training program conducted within a 6-week duration.  The F-SOC is a comprehensive training program to prepare the security professional to protect federal level buildings while working within the security field.  Course instructions will be conveyed through open platform classroom teaching, case-studies, team building exercises, hands-on practical activities and physical training activities. 

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:   Minimum age of 21 years       Experience and Education combination may be considered       Three (3) years security or military experience is required       U.S. Citizenship is required
