FiftyTwo4Mom was formed in honor of my mother, who twelve years ago suffered a head injury that caused her to develop Optic Neuropathy, or a deterioration of the optic nerve. Her condition went untreated for several years because the doctors were unsure of the cause of her vision loss. When it was finally discovered and treated, her nerves had atrophied, leaving her legally blind and no longer able to work or drive. My mom had been a patient care attendant at the local Hospital for over 25 years, and now she is the one left dependant on others.
