ALL finishers will receive the commemorative 5th Anniversary Finisher's Medal
Walker Category is for participants who will COMPETE as a Walker. If you will mostly walk but intend to run or jog some, please register in the open field, not as a Walker. Walker participants will be issued a distinct race bib & start 5 minutes after the open field. Although not a judged racewalk competition, one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times & there will be monitors on the course. Running or jogging will be basis for disqualification. Technical, wicking, t-shirts for participants registered by 03/17/2014 will be available at packet pick-up (advance or race a.m.) Registering after 3/18, your shirt MAY be mailed to you after the event to ensure you get the size you selected.
Plenty of parking is available on-site; however, vehicular traffic outbound from the Festival Grounds (Shark's Tooth 10K site) will be suspended once the race begins and will remain closed until the last runner crosses the finish line. We anticipate outbound traffic will resume by 9:15 a.m. If you wish to leave prior to 9:15 a.m., please utilize off-site parking at Grace United Methodist Church at the corner of Field Avenue and Avenida del Circo less than 1 mile from the start.
Runners, joggers and walkers are welcome. You must be able to complete the 6.2 course maintaining just under 17 minutes per mile. The finish line will close at 9:05 a.m.
Please NO PETS. Pets are not permitted on the festival grounds.

For the safety of all participants, volunteers and spectators, the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, the Shark’s Tooth 10K encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the Shark’s Tooth 10K. Police and volunteers monitor the roads and intersections for your safety but roads are not closed to vehicular traffic.
The course is predominantly on prepared surfaces, asphalt and concrete. A small portion to and from the festival grounds and in Caspersen Beach Park is on grated, crushed shell drives and packed trails. Please be aware and considerate of other runners and walkers if chosing to use a stroller or jogger for the safety of other participants, you and your children.
Expecting almost 1,000 runners this year, the Shark's Tooth 10K has grown to be a premier running event of the Suncoast. Each registrant will receive a tech participant shirt, premium post-race party and complimentary entry on race day with race bib into the 22nd Annual BB&T Shark's Tooth Festival. Shark's Tooth Awards: Male and Female Overall, Youth (14 and under), Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grand-masters, and Veteran Grandmasters (70+). and 5 year age-group awards 3 deep from 12 & under, 13-14, then 5 year groups 15-19, etc. to 80 & over Walker Category Awards male/female 39 & under and male/female 40 & over
