What's Included

8:00 – 9:45 am - Visual Arts: 1960’s pop artists used instantly recognizable imagery (Hamburgers, Comic Strip Characters, Soup Cans, etc), as well as modern printmaking technology – to make a humorous dig at the consumerist American society. Learn the techniques of artists Andy Warhol, Roy Lictenstein and others. You’re sure to have eye-POPPING results. 10:00 – 11:45 am - Dance: Chubby Checker made the Twist popular when he appeared on American Bandstand. It originated in a small New York club called The Peppermint Lounge in 1961. Next, dances like the Mashed Potato and Watusi were introduced via TV shows and movies. Learn these crazy dance styles and have your audience dancing in the aisles!
