Tubac Presidio State Historic Park, 1 Burruel Street Tubac, Arizona 85646, From Tucson (45 minutes)-Take I-19 South to Tubac/Exit 34. Turn east (left) to Frontage Road. Turn north (left) onto Frontage Road. Turn right at the entrance to Tubac, right again on Tubac Road. Parking is available at and around the Presidio.
The Anza Days Fun Run & Fitness Walk will start at the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park on October 20, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. Number and T-Shirt pickup starts at 7:30 a.m. The run and fitness walk goes through the village of Tubac and along the Anza Trail. The course is mostly flat on pavement and dirt trail. Come prepared with a water bottle and sunscreen. Water will be available before and after the run.
The Anza Trail Coalition of Arizona is dedicated to establishing and maintaining the historic route of 1775-1776 Spanish expedition led by Juan Bautista de Anza. The trail commemorates the story of the expedition whose 240 settlers experienced this overland route on their trek to Alta (or upper) California. They founded and established the Mission and Presidio of San Francisco, the Mission in Santa Clara and the Pueblo of San Jos?. Most settled in what is today the San Francisco Bay Area.
