Brief Description

The Powder Hound is the USA TRIATHLON PACIFIC NORTHWEST REGION WINTER TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP This event will be run at the Homestake Lodge; Montana's newest Cross Country Ski Center. The courses will be on the x-c ski trails and forest service roads. They will wind through woods, meadows and include some steep ascents/descents. Mountain biking will be on groomed snow covered trails.

Event Distances and Details

Run 5K, Mountain Bike 10K, Cross Country Ski 5K. There will be both skate and classic lanes set for the XC portion of the event.

Early Bird Registration Discount

Register by January 14th and save yourself some bucks, register by January 27th and you'll still beat the race day registration fee. Add $10 to single or team entry fee for same day registration

USAT License

A USAT License will be required. Day licenses may be purchased for $10/athlete at registration.

Lunch and Trail Pass Included

Competitors receive one complimentary trip through the Homestake Lodge Chili and Homemade Roll Buffet. Additional meals can be purchased for guests etc. upon arrival. A day long trail pass is included in the entry fee.

Bathrooms and Facilities

Homestake Lodge has two showers each for Men and Women. Bring your own towel and try to keep showers brief.

Ski Waxing Facilities

There is a complete wax room with 5 wax benches and overhead ventilation. The Lodge also has for purchase, wax and waxing accesories from Swix and Rode

Additional Information

Directions: Get off I-90 at Exit 233 and head to the south side of the highway overpass. Forest Service Road 240 begins at the cattle guard. Drive 3 miles and look for the Homestake Lodge Entry on the right after the power lines.

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States.
