About the Race Ninth Annual CB & I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon The CB & I TRI - The Woodlands Triathlon is set to take place Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Northshore Park. The triathlon begins at 7 a.m. As one of the premier multi-sport events in the region, CB & I TRI, produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department offers high-caliber competition, first-rate race management and a scenic course. The 2012 race is a sanctioned USA Triathlon (USAT) event and will feature a field of 1,000 participants. Last year's participants ranged from beginners to nationally ranked triathletes. This event has reached capacity and sold out registration in the past seven years. This event earned a Top 10 in the USAT South Midwest Region for Sprint Distance Triathlons in 2004 and was designated as the USAT South Midwest Region Sprint State Championships for 2007. The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring music, great food, beverages and door prizes. Race Facts Swim distance: 500-meter open water swim; average race day water temperature is 78 degrees Bike distance: 15 miles throughout The Woodlands Run distance: 5K run Entry Fees Time of Registration Individual Fee Relay Team Fee Early Registration (January 1 - February 15) $85 $130 Registration (February 16 - March 15) $95 $140 Late Registration (March 16 - April 22) $105 $150 Note: CB&I Tri – The Woodlands will be capped with a total of 1,000 athletes to ensure safety and a positive race experience for all Refunds All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
