We will be offering Old School lifeguard style competitions that helped create the sport of triathlon.
Cowell's Beach Rough Water Swim - 1 mile & .5 mile
Open Ocean Paddle/Stand Up Paddle - 5 mile
Pier Paddle/Stand Up paddle - 2 mile
Santa Cruz Pier Ocean Sprint Race -.5 mile swim/.5 mile barefoot beach run/1 mile paddle
The roots of triathlon were based on lifeguard style competitions in southern California, Hawaii and
Australia. The base of these competitions included open-water swims, open-water swim/run events and paddle board racing.
This is a GREAT opportunity for your Athletic friends and family not racing in The Big Kahuna Triathlon to get in some Old School ocean competition on Saturday.
So, mark your calendar for an entire weekend of Big Kahuna Events September 11th-12th, 2010 Santa Cruz, Ca.

8:30am – Cowell's Beach Rough Water Swim – 1 mile
9:00am – Cowell's Beach Rough Water Swim – .5 mile
10:30am– Open Ocean Paddle/Stand Up Paddle – 5 mile
10:40am – Pier Paddle/Stand Up paddle – 2 Mile
12:15PM – Santa Cruz Pier Ocean Sprint Race
