Brief Description

The Golden State Triathlon is a sprint distance criterium-style triathlon with a three-lap, draft legal bike course. After the race is the RedBull Afterburner Party with awards, expo, hot food and beer garden.

Super Sprint Triathlon

200yd swim - 5 mile bike - 1 mile run: designed for First Time Triathletes and anyone looking for a fun short course. The race will start at 8:30 am with one wave. Awards will be given to the first overall Male and Female, plus three deep in each ten year age group. A post-race lunch, t-shirt and free massage will be provided to each athlete along with tons of raffle prizes. Only $55 early entry, $65 on race day. Relay Teams $120 early, $140 race day

Race Highlights

The Golden State Triathlon is California's Only Criterium Style Sprint Triathlon with a Draft Legal Three-loop bike course and a Post race party with beer garden. There is also a Multi-Sport expo and Awards Five-deep in each age group. Top Competition among age-group athletes with a ton of FUN!

Awards

First place Overall Male and Female in the Golden State Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards five deep in each five-year age group for the Golden State Triathlon. Relay Teams awards will be for the top three in each division of Male, Female, and Coed Teams.

First place Overall Male and Female in the Super Sprint Triathlon will receive Overall Champion Awards. There will be awards three deep in each ten-year age group for the Super Sprint Triathlon.

Packet Pick-up

Packets will be available the day before the event at Fleet Feet Sports in Sacramento from 10 am to 6 pm. Fleet Feet Sports is located at 2311 J Street, (916) 442-3338. Packets will also be available race morning from 6:30 am until 7:30 am at the race site.

The Course

The Golden State Triathlon is California's only Criterium Style Sprint Triathlon with a 3-loop draft legal bike course. The half-mile swim is in the American River near Old Sacramento. The 15-mile three-loop bike course is draft-legal and runs on closed local roads. The 3-mile run course is an out and back run along the beautiful American River Parkway.

Relay Teams

There will be three divisions for Relay Teams: Male, Female, and Coed. There will be awards for the top Three Teams in each division.

Clydesdale and Athena athletes

Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and the Athena (women over 150 lbs) divisions are available for the Golden State Triathlon and all of the TBF Racing Triathlons this year.

Directions

Discovery Park is located off Interstate 5 between Highway 50 and Interstate 80. From I-5 exit on Garden Highway. Go left on the Garden Highway and turn right into Discovery Park entrance. There is a $4 parking fee.
