Brief Description

All 4 races start from the same spot on the beautiful local beach. Olympic races take off at 7:00 am CT and Sprint distance races start at 7:30am CT. Swimmers and runners (duathletes after the first run on the beach) will follow the same course to T1, on the bike, T2, and run. Participants of Sprint distance races will turn around on the bike and run before Olympic participants will. Please watch for signs, flags, and volunteers to lead you.

Event Schedule

Packet pick up Friday 5-8pm CT at El Governor Hotel. Saturday - transition area opens at 5:30am CT. Race packet pick up and body marking start at 5:30am CT as well. Only body marked athletes will be allowed to enter the transition area. Race start - Olympic race starts at 7:00am CT. Sprint race starts at 7:30am CT. Awards start as soon as the last athlete crosses the finish line. Enjoy grilled shrimp, hot dogs, pizza, beer and door prices while you wait!

Sprint TRI: 0.35 mile Swim, 15 mile Bike, 3.1 mile Run. Olympic TRI: 0.7 mile Swim, 25 mile Bike, 6.2 mile Run. Sprint DU: 1.2 mile Run, 15 mile Bike, 3.1 mile Run. Olympic DU: 3.1 mile Run, 15 mile Bike, 6.2 mile Run. FIRST RUN FOR ALL DUATHLONS WILL BE ON SAND (BEACH)!

Rules

Race is subject to USAT Rules. Officials will be present to ensure a safe and fair competition. IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER OF USAT, PLEASE PURCHASE A ONE-DAY USAT LICENCE DURING THE REGISTRATION. IT WILL SAVE TIME AT THE RACE PACKET PICK UP. Registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable. Transfers or refunds only available in case of military orders. If the event is canceled due to severe weather, fees will not be refunded.

Rules

To USAT members - NO ID - NO CARD- NO RACE- NO EXCEPTIONS - you will have to buy a 1-day license if you leave your USAT card at home (see www.usatriathlon.com for rules). There will be no refunds with the exception of military orders and USAT one-day licenses fees.

Food & Fun

We'll have pizza, grilled shrimp, and hot dogs for you! Of course, beer too! You can win great prizes in drawings: items and gift certificates from TriSports.com and Hammer Nutrition. Due to high popularity of our shrimp, they will be available for sale at race site during post-race party. So bring some cash – these shrimp are fresh and delicious!

Additional Information

If you are not a member of USAT (www.usatriathlon.com) you have purchase a one-day membership for $10 during registration process. Each member of a team must have a one-day membership, if a non-member.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
