The 2.4-mile, two-loop swim takes place in the Gulf of Mexico. The 112-mile, single-lap bike course is flat and fast. The highest point on the course is only 161 feet above sea level, and the wind tends to be light. The 26.2-mile run course is one of the flattest runs on the Ironman circuit. Spectators fill the roads on the two-loop course, which parallels the shoreline through the local neighborhoods to the turnaround in Saint Andrews State Park.
