Brief Description

The two-loop swim takes place in the Gulf of Mexico. The single-lap bike course is flat and fast. The highest point on the course is only 161 feet above sea level, and the wind tends to be light. The run course is one of the flattest runs on the Ironman circuit. Spectators fill the roads on the two-loop course, which parallels the shoreline through the local neighborhoods to the turnaround in Saint Andrews State Park.

Refund/Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal requests must be received in writing via E-mail to Florida@ironman.com. Without exception, all requests must be received on or before September 15, 2010 to be eligible for a partial refund of $150.00 (USD). Transfers or deferrals are NOT permitted. *Withdrawal policy also applies to the NASCF Slots*

Ironman Foundation Slots

Slots will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will each cost $1,100.00 USD, which includes athlete registration and a $550.00 tax-deductible donation to The Ironman Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization. One hundred percent of all donations made to The Ironman Foundation, Inc. will be distributed to various local organizations and charities based in Florida. Deferments or transfers are NOT permitted.

USAT

USA Triathlon will sanction Ford Ironman Florida. To complete the registration process, athletes will need photo identification and must show proof of current USAT membership or purchase a one-day license ($10.00 USD) during online registration. USA Triathlon’s Age Group Competition rule

All qualifying events will implement both the International Triathlon Federation and USA Triathlon’s Age Group Competition rule: All age group athletes must compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31st of the year of the event.

Ford Ironman Florida will serve as one of the worldwide qualifying events for the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI. *** Entrants must be at least 18 years old on race day ***

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States.
