Long Course - 1.2M Swim, 56M Bike, 13.1M Run and Olympic Distance - 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike. 10K Run

Prize Money

$4,950 Total. For the Pigman Long, the top 8 male and female finishers and the top club will race for a piece of the prize purse

Clubs and Organizations

The Pigman Long Course will offer awards to the fastest club or organization. Top club will win $250.

Race Site Location & Directions

Pleasant Creek State Park is located 12 miles northwest of Cedar Rapids in eastern Iowa. To reach the park: From I-380 take exit #24 (Blairs Ferry Road) and head west to Palo (approximately six miles), turn north on County road W36 and follow signs. Closest airport to the park is the Eastern Iowa Airport. It is located about 30 minutes from the race site.

Swim

Wave starts begin at 7:30 a.m. sharp. The course is will be a triangular shaped swim from Pleasant Creek State Park swimming beach. Boats and safety personnel will be on the lake at all times. Wet suits will be allowed as per USA Triathlon rules.

Bike

Our challenging out and back 56 mile bike for the Long Course will take you through Iowa's scenic countryside. The Olympic distance 24. 85 mile bike will share the same course with a different turn around point. No drafting allowed; marshals will patrol the entire course. Five bottle exchange stations will be located along the course for the Long and two for the Olympic. Water and HEED will be available.

Run

The 13.1 mile Long Course run is an out and back course on a country road with small rolling hills. The Olympic distance 6.2 mile run will share the same course with a different turn around point. Little protection from the sun is provided on this course. Aid stations will be located each mile along the course. Water, HEED, ice, fruit and cookies will be available.

Series Affilations

Member of Heart of America Triathlon Series and the Midwest Multi-sport Series.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
