DATE: Sunday, August 26, 2012 START TIME: 7:30a.m. LOCATION: Louisiana Family Fitness Center, 336 Heather Dr., Opelousas, Louisiana This race is being produced to benefit Boy Scout Troops 144 and 165 of Opelousas, La. DISTANCES: Swim 150 meters, Bike 14 miles, Run 2 miles USAT Sanctioned Event!!! ENTRY FEES: Individual: Through August 9 - $40.00, August 10 - August 23 - $45.00, August 24 - August 26 - $55.00 (offline only/day of race) Relay Team(Minimum 2 members/Maximum 3 members): Through August 9 - $60.00, August 10 - August 23 - $65.00, August 24 - August 26 - $75.00 (offline only/day of race) All Non-USA Triathlon Members must add $12.00 for a one-day license to the above prices. EARLY PACKET PICK-UP & REGISTRATION: Friday, August 24 & Saturday August 25 at Smoothie Factory from 10:00a.m. - 6:00p.m. Smoothie Factory address: 125 Arnould Blvd. Lafayette, LA (337) 989-7001, located in Lafayette off Johnston St. and between Brother's and Jason's Deli Just as reminder to all please bring a photo ID and USAT license; only participants can pick up their packets, etc. RACE DAY EVENTS: Packet Pick Up & Registration Opens: 6:00 a.m. Packet Pick Up & Registration Closes: 7:00 a.m. Race Starts: 7:30a.m. Post Race Party Starts: 9:30a.m. Awards Ceremony Starts: 9:45a.m. Church Services (Catholic Mass and Non-Denominational Worship Service) 10:45a.m. RULES: USAT Sanctioned event. Helmets must be worn. All USA Triathlon rules will be in effect and must be followed. All athletes must pick up their own packets and are required to present both a current USA Triathlon Membership card and a photo ID. Friends or relatives may not pick up race packets for triathletes participating in the race. THE COURSE: Staging area: Louisiana Family Fitness Center facility at 336 Heather Drive, Opelousas. *Swim: This a 150-meter pool swim at the health club facility. *Bike Course: The REVISED BIKE COURSE takes you down La. Hwy. 182 to Harry Guilbeau Road, past sweet potato farms to the newly surface I-49 Service Rd, then south across the upper portion of Coteau Ridge which hundreds of years ago was part of the western bank of the mighty Mississippi River, south toward Sunset to the turn around and back to the health club. *Run Course: This is an out & back run along quiet, shaded streets named Honeysuckle, Camelia, Wysteria, Magnolia and Marigold and you finish back at the health club. Directions from I-10 East or West & I-49 South: Take exit 103A in Lafayette and go north on I-49 for 18 miles to exit 18 at Creswell Lane in Opelousas. Take exit ramp, turn left (west) onto Creswell Lane and follow Creswell Lane to 5th light at intersection with La. Hwy. 182. Turn left (south) on La. Hwy 182 and go 1 mile to Heather Drive. Turn left on Heather Drive, health club on right. Directions from I-49 North: From Shreveport, Alexandria, etc., go south on I-49. Take exit 18 at Creswell Lane in Opelousas. Take exit ramp, turn right (west) onto Creswell Lane and follow Creswell Lane to 3rd light at intersection with La. Hwy. 182. Turn left (south) on La. Hwy. 182 and go1 mile to Heather Drive. Turn left on Heather Drive, health club on right. Parking: On property of Louisiana Family Fitness Center health club and directly across the street.
