If you are an existing athlete capable of swimming, cycling, and running, and are looking to participate in your first Olympic triathlon, this could be the program for you. This 12 week program will be a combination of run, bike and bricks workouts. An introduction to the basics of triathlon, along with improved pacing, increased endurance and strength and transitioning will be the overriding focus of the class.
We'll also have TWO swim workouts. One in the pool at the beginning of the program which will work in conjunction with our Online Swim Instruction The goal of the pool workout is to teach you the basic swim drills so that you will be able to understand and best maximize the online coaching. If you would like a stronger swim concentration, program participants will be given priority discount entry into any of JackRabbit's fitness level specific swim programs. Our second group swim will be an Open Water Swim Workshop. This will provide you with all the open water swim skills essential to a successful race day.
In addition will also be an online component where we will provide you with in-between 'homework' as well as swim workouts.
We've developed this program for someone who can already swim 250 yards continuously, run 3 miles continuously, and can bike 10 miles continuously.
Ample time is devoted to race day preparation so that if this is your first triathlon, you will be well informed and prepared.
Fee: $300 training program
Days/Times: Wednesday evenings from 6:45-7:45pm and Saturday mornings at 7:00am. In general, you should plan on running Wednesdays and cycling on Saturdays.
Dates: The programs kicks-off April 23rd and will continue up through race day of July 14th. We will NOT have class May 25th for Memorial Day or July 6th for the Independence Day weekend.
