5150 Age Requirements

*** Per USA Triathlon rules, all athletes must be 15 years old as of 12-31-2011 to participate ***

USAT

USA Triathlon will sanction 5150 New Orleans. To complete the online registration process, athletes will need to enter their USAT annual license number or purchase a one-day license ($10.00 USD) during online registration. Athletes must bring their photo identification and show proof of current USAT membership during athlete check-in. Otherwise, it will be required to purchase a one day license on-site. USA Triathlon’s Age Group Competition rule

All qualifying events will implement both the International Triathlon Federation and USA Triathlon’s Age Group Competition rule: All age group athletes must compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31st of the year of the event.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
