Swim Course:
UVAS Reservoir is open to the public for swimming only a few days a year, exclusively for the Morgan Hill Sprint Triathlon @ UVAS Reservoir. The reservoir offers some of the cleanest water around, and features 65 to 70 degree water temperature in May. Wetsuits are encouraged for safety, but are not mandatory. The swim course is well marked and participants swim around a natural wooded and tree-lined peninsula. Swimmers follow the shoreline and finish at the boat ramp on the opposite side of the start.
Bike Course:
Bikers, you need to keep your heads up and obey all city traffic codes and Highway Patrol Officers. All racers need to be aware that the race course is not closed to vehicle traffic and we urge you all to be safe and stay to the right side of the road at all times. The course is marked with cones, chalk, police officers and volunteers. This course has rolling hills and is very scenic. Bikers pass by reservoirs, wineries and rural ranch-style properties. There is a steep hill climb of approximately 1/2 mile in length near mile 11. At the corner of Sycamore Avenue and Watsonville Road, a mandatory slow down will be strictly enforced.
Run Course:
Participants run along the road out and back 2.5 miles, for a total of 5.0 miles. The course is lined heavily with cones and flour. History has brought hot weather so bring a hat and sunscreen. There will be aid stations every mile dispensing water and hammer electrolyte sports drink.
