Brief Description

As the season starter, the Miami International Triathlon (or simply MIT) takes place in the cool & sunny spring of the City of Miami, Florida. Besides the favorable weather & beautiful and unique course views mixed with the City's diverse Latin culture influence, the MIT is a must-go destination event for both professional and amateur level athletes.
In 2009, the event sold out with 1,500 athletes from 24 different countries and a strong professional presence.

Prizes & Awards

There is no feeling that compares to the thrill of completing a triathlon. Just to support that feeling, every participant that completes the course will receive a professionally designed custom medal.
For PRO athletes: $25K in cash;
For elite and age-groupers: Special Awards for the top-3 of each category.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
