Brief Description

This is the 5th Annual Hill Country Kid's and Family Tri! This is a fun kid's race for children ages 5-15 years old and it includes an optional parent's "mini-tri" which will begin when the last senior youth is off the bike course. You must have your child participating in the race in order to compete as an adult/parent. A family team consists of one parent, and one child. **Registration space is limited **

Juniors 5-6 (25 m swim/.5 mile bike/.6 mile run) Juniors 7-10 (100 m swim/2.5 mile bike/.6 mile run) Seniors 11-15 (150 m swim/5.1 mile bike/1.2 mile run) Parents (150 m swim/5.1 mile bike/1.2 mile run) Racer will be competing in the age category that they will turn on December 31, 2010. For example, if your child is 6 on race day, but will be 7 on December 31,2010 they will be completing the same course as the 7-10 year olds. This means they have a longer swim! Please make sure you know which course your child. Transition area opens at 5:45 am. Body marking and safety inspections will take place before athletes enter transition area. Helmets are required. There will be a mandatory pre-race meeting at 6:45 am inside the pool area. Transition area closes for all racers at 6:45 am sharp! Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the race site, pick up your timing chip and set up your transition area. No spectators will be allowed in the transition area during the race. The swim will be a staggered start, with swimmers entering the water every 10 seconds, according to their estimated swim times. The bike and run course will be on closed streets in the beautiful Plum Creek subdivision in Kyle, Texas. EMS will be onsite during the race. The race will take place rain or shine. We will have a 2 hour race post-ponement contignency due to bad weather. The race course may be altered if deemed unsafe. There will be no refunds. All athletes must be a member of USAT and will be required to provide a USAT membership card along with photo id at packet pick-up. You may purchase a USAT membership at packet pick-up, or you can purchase it online at www.usatriathlon.org and print out a card to bring to packet pick-up. You may not pick up another racers packet, unless it is your child's-no exceptions! Fees: Register in May: $35 Youth, $60.00 Team (one parent, one child) Register in June: $40 Youth, $65.00 Team (one parent, one child) July: $45 Youth, $70.00 Team (one parent, one child) There will be two opportunities for packet pick-up: Austin area packet pick-up will be on Wednesday, July 21st from 11am-1pm at 1379 Kids located at 2727 Exposition Blvd., Suite 121 Austin, Texas 78703. A second packet pick-up will be held on Friday July 23rd from 4-8pm at the Plum Creek Community Center, located at 405 Haupt. All racers must pick up their own packet. A parent/guardian will be required to sign a USAT waiver. ***THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP.*** Every racer will receive a finisher's medal when they cross the finish line! Trophies will be awarded for 1st-3rd place per age group for boys and girls. Special family awards will be given out to the top youth and parent teams! Refreshments and awards immediately following the race!
