1.5K SWIM, 45K BIKE, 10K RUN
Registration is now Closed. We have reached capacity. We may take a few more entries on Sat. 9/20/08 at packet pickup at Beachwalker Park 1-4 pm as we hear of withdrawals. However, this is not guaranteed. You must have $70 cash (no exceptions). The team competion is also full and we will not take any more teams.
Please note, we have a NEW START TIME this year: 7:30 am. If you wish to park inside Beachwalker Park, you must arrive no later than 6:30 am!
1.5 K swim is a point to point ocean swim with the current. The swim exits the water onto the beach and participants enter the transition area via a sand trail. Although not necessary, wetsuits are allowed.
45K bike is a T-shaped route with two turn-a-rounds at the Kiawah Ocean Golf Course and Bohicket Rd. It is flat and fast with unparalleled scenic views of ocean and marsh. Helmets must be worn on the bike. No riding in the transition area.
10K run exits the transition area via the sand trail with the first mile being run on the hard packed sand of Kiawah's beautiful beach. The remainder is on flat, well shaded paved roads with several out and back portions.
Entries are limited to 300. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. No transfer of entries from one year to the next, no transfer of entries from one participant to another. NO EXCEPTIONS
Late Registration/packet pick-up will be held Sat. Sept. 20 at Beachwalker Park 1-4pm. You may still register at this time (space permitting). Individuals 70.00, Teams 140.00 (CASH ONLY PLEASE). Packet Pick up will also be Sun. Sept. 21, 6:00-7:00 am. at Beachwalker Park. NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
Again this year, the addition of Athena and Clydesdale categories. Athena ( women 150 lbs and up), Clydesdale (men 200 lbs and up).
Each participant will recieve a long-sleeved, custom designed shirt and a post race meal. Awards ceremony will be held shortly following the event.
Parking is limited inside Beachwalker since a portion of the lot is dedicated as the transition area. You may park inside Beachwalker, however, you will not be permitted to leave before everyone is finished.There are two other lots are available for parking along Beachwalker Dr. Do not park on the shoulder on Beachwalker Dr.

Current Club members may deduct $5 when pre-registering only. You must register with a paper entry to take the deduction. Paper entries may be printed from www.theextramileinc.com or call 843-853-9987.
A portion of the race proceeds to benefit the Low Country Little League

Kiawah Is. is approx. 20 mi south of Charleston. Take Hwy 17 South from Charleston to Main Rd. Left onto Main Rd. and follow the signs 17 mi to Kiawah Is. Turn Rt. onto Beachwalker Dr. just before the Kiawah Is Security Gate. Beachwalker Park is down on the right.
