Brief Description

A 3 day Stage Ultradistance Triathlon that circles the Big Island of Hawaii over the Thanksgiving weekend. Day 1 (Friday) has a 6.2 mile swim from Kailua Bay to Keauhou Bay, followed by 90 mile bike to Volcano. Day 2 (Saturday) continues with 171.4 mile bike ride from Volcano to Hawi and on Sunday, Day 3. is a 52.4 mile double marathon from Hawi back to Kailua-Kona. Each athlete must be accompanied by a Support Team of at least 2 adult team members.

Additional Information

All entries are subject to review by the Acceptance Committee and invitations will be issued to 40 participants, based on their previous experience, geographical areas represented and other criteria.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
