Welcome

The 24th Annual Surf Town Triathlon & Duathlon is Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 7:00 a.m. The races start and finish at Imperial Beach Pier in Imperial Beach (Southern San Diego County).

Distances

TRI: 500 Meter Ocean Swim, 15K Bike, 5K Run
DU: 1,500 meter Run, 15K Bike, 5K Run

2012 Race Features

The 2012 race features chip timing and a post-race party with refreshments, live DJ and an awards ceremony. ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A TECHNICAL T-SHIRT AND "VIRTUAL GOODIE BAG." All participants will also receive a finishers pin. Awards to the top three finishers in each category.

DOUBLE Points for the KOZ Multisport Points Series in the duathlon to the top 10 individual finishers in division categories. Regular points will be given for the triathlon.

Relays

Athletes can register as a 2 person or 3 person relay team in the triathlon. Teams can compete in four categories: Men, Women, Mixed, or Triathlon 120+ (Combined ages have to be greater than 120). Sorry, no duathlon relays.

Pre-Race Check In Information

ALL Participants must attend the mandatory pre-race expo to pick up their own race materials. We do not allow friends or family members to pick up your race materials for you. ID's are mandatory at the expo. Please arrive prepared.

Those who do not check-in on Saturday and do not chose the Mail Back or VIP check-in option, must pay a late check-in fee of $10.00 on race morning.

Mandatory Pre-Race Check In

All race entrants must check-in on Saturday, August 25th at the Imperial Beach Pier from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. All athletes will sign the waiver and pick up their timing chip, race numbers, swim cap and T-shirt.

Mail Back Option

For a fee of $15- Receive your race materials in the mail, EXCEPT FOR YOUR TIMING CHIP AND T-SHIRT, at least 5 days prior to the race. You do not need to attend the pre-race check in. Your timing chip will be available for your at the VIP booth on race morning. You will need to return a signed waiver by mail and pick up your t-shirt at the finish.

VIP Check-in

From out of town and/or can't make it to race check-in? For a fee of $30, your race numbers, waiver, swim cap and t-shirt will be ready for you on race day at the VIP booth near the transition including swim starts.

Take Interstate 5 Palm Ave./State Route 75. Go west on Palm Ave. Continue on Palm Ave. by turning left one block past Ninth St. Continue west on Palm to Seacoast Dr. Turn left on Seacoast and go south six blocks to Imperial Beach Pier

Refund and Transfer Policy

Partial Refunds and transfers are available Cancel by July 1 and receive a refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee. Cancel from July 2 until August 10th and receive a refund minus a $25 cancellation fee. Once the race sells out, refunds will not be offered. You may transfer your entry to the 2013 event or to another person until August 10th.

Transfer Information

To transfer your entry to the 2013 event or to another person, you must download a San Diego Triathlon Series Transfer Form at www.kozevents.com. Transfer from must be received or postmarked by the August 10th deadline. There is a $20 transfer fee for all transfers.
