2012 marks the 12th Annual Barb's Race. If you are a female triathlete who has been thinking about moving up from the Olympic Distance (swim 1.5K, bike 40K, run 10K) to the world of long-course triathlons, Barb's Race is perfect for you! Barb's Race is the only all women's half distance triathlon in the world...so this is your chance to be part of something special! Read the Vineman Race Director's account of how Barb's Race came about. In 2012 we will limit the field to 575 participants.
Barb's Race is held on the same day as the Full Vineman Triathlon. The event is intended to be a unique opportunity for women to do a half distance triathlon that raises money to support women facing a cancer diagnosis. Athletes will swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles. Barb's Race will follow the same course as the Full Vineman, but is half of the distance.
Half of all entry fees from Barb's Race will be placed in our Vineman Charity Grants that donates to local cancer charities. More than $500,000 has been raised for these organizations through Barb's Race since 2001.
