1/4 Mile Swim Jump into the sparkling Gulf of Mexico beneath the shadow of the Coast Guard Lighthouse. The out and back journey begins and ends at Sand Spur Public Beach 13 Mile Bike Sprint down shaded boulevards and open road from one end of Gasparilla Island to the other. Spin past two Lighthouses, beachfront mansions, and backwater bayous away from downtown congestion. 5K Run Saving the best for last, the run features a mix of spectacular harbor views, tree lined lanes, plus a zip past the Gasparilla Inn and historical railroad buildings. The finish line at the Boca Grande Community Center offers the perfect setting to cool down. Proceeds from the 2010 Optimist Boca Bop Triathlon will benefit the youth of our communities.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
