Welcome to the Iron Girl Rocky Gap Triathlon. Based on the unprecedented popularity of the Athleta Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon which was named The "Best Women's Event" in the Mid-Atlantic by Competitor Magazine, TriColumbia is pleased to present this second Iron Girl Triathlon event on September 9, 2012 at The Rocky Gap State Park in Allegheny County, MD. As with the Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon, this inspirational all women's event is about empowering women toward a healthy lifestyle, and celebrating your unique grace as you journey toward the finish line.
This pristine "girls' get away" venue provides the ideal backdrop for a triumphant race, with the swim taking place in beautiful Lake Habeeb, fed by Rocky Gap Run, which winds its way through an impressive mile-long gorge, displaying sheer cliffs, overlooks and a hemlock forest dense with rhododendron and mountain laurel.
