Brief Description

The Essex Board of Health’s mission is to encourage healthy habits that our youth can carry into adulthood. The Essex Youth Triathlon is the perfect opportunity to encourage and to instill the joy of health, the excitement of physical activity and pride of participation. “Just Tri” this tri-sporting event!

The Essex Youth Triathlon offers your child the following FREE opportunities - FREE TRIATHLON CLINIC including -OPEN WATER SWIM CLINIC. This will familiarize your child with the lake, swim course, and techniques for entering & exiting the water -BICYCLE CLINIC by Seaside Cycle. Review the course route, riding safety, and bike check -RUNING CLINIC and course review FINISHER MEDAL for all who complete the race RACE PACKET stuffed with information and goodies including a tee-shirt! AWARDS CEREMONY the top 3 finishers in each age category will be awarded trophies and everyone can enjoy free food and entertainment! RAFFLE DRAWING All participants are entered into a drawing to win some great prizes!

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
