Brief Description

This is a sprint race and includes a 750 meter swim in the Atlantic Ocean, followed by a 19.3k out and back bike along highway 58 and will conclude with a 5k out and back run along Ocean Drive. The race transition area for all phases is the Eastern Regional Ocean Access (2701 Emerald Drive). There is only one team category; teams must have 3 members, one for each leg of the race.

Additional Information

Packet pick up will be held Friday, October 19 from 4-7pm at the Emerald Isle Community Center (7500 Emerald Drive); and at the race site on race day from 6-7am. There will be awards for the top three male and top three female finishers, plus the top three finishers in each age division; 16-U, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over). Race will be chip timed by Run the East Event Timing & Management.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required.
