Brief Description

Great opportunity to try out Triathlon. This Super Sprint event will consist of a 250 yard pool swim (1 swimmer starts every 30 sec); a 12 mile bike through Gilmer county that has a gentle rolling hills; and finished with a 2 mile flat run.

Summer Super Sprint Series

The Three Rivers race is event #2 (of 5) in the summer series. Participants receive series points based on their finish time. Series awards will be given out after the last race of the summer (The Bootlegger). In order to be eligible for series awards, athletes must participate in at least 3 of the events. Late Registration & Day of Registration

Late registration is considered any registration after June 17th. We will have extras, but T-shirts will not be guaranteed on race day for anyone registering after June 17. Day of registration starts at 7:00 am.

Event Cap

The adult race is capped at 200 participants...register early, we're expected to sell out fast. If you bring the kids to race too, register for an earlier wave so you're guaranteed to be finished before they start.

The primary beneficiary for the race is the Gilmer County Parks dept.

Kids Race

After all the adults have finished their race the kids will start their event. The adults do they're bike on the road, but the Kids Race will be completely on the park grounds. Course

The swim will be done in the Gilmer County Pool; the out and back gently rolling hill bike leg will be done on the roads through Gilmer County; and the run will be done in and around the park grounds.

Race Age

Athletes will race in the age group that corresponds with their age on 12/31/2011.

Estimated Swim Time

Athletes will be placed for the swim start based on their estimated swim time. This will allow the faster swimmers to go first, and keep them from catching the slower swimmers. Please do your best to have an accurate time.

Relays

If you don't like, can't do, or shouldn't do one of the legs of a triathlon; don't worry...Just grab a friend or two and sign up for the Relay. Each relay team member receives the same benefits as if they were a single registration.

Additional Information

All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt and a goody bag. All race finishers receive a finishers award, as well as placings for top 3 overall and all the regular 5 year age groups. Great after race festival for the entire family.
