Run Course Description
Runners will follow a route through several areas of El Dorado, including the scenic bike path, historic downtown, and East Park. Both run legs of the duathlon will follow the same course.
Bike Course Description
The bike portion of the race will be a
somewhat flat course with some rolling hills along the way. The scenic route will take you out towards the lake on Highway 77. Riders will take a right on Myers road and continue on Boulder Bluff Road and Shady Creek Road. Riders will again take a right onto 177 for a stretch while enjoying the scenic landscape of central Kansas. You will then take a right on to Highway 54, this last 5 mile stretch will be fast and mostly downhill.
Packets will be available for pick up on Saturday August 25th, at the El Dorado YMCA.
Outlaw Rules
All entries are non-transferable.
All bike participants are required to wear a helmet.
Team competition: one person is the designated runner, one person is the designated biker.
Participants are required to have their race number visible at all times.
Once the event has begun, only bikers are allowed in the bike staging area.
Awards
Individual Awards: Top overall male and female will receive awards. Age group awards will be given out in the following categories: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
Team Awards: fastest overall team, fastest all-male team, fastest all-female team, fastest co-ed team, most creative team name.
