Description

The Patriot Half Training Camp is designed for athletes who are new to the half iron race distance. Led by USA Triathlon certified coaches, this full day camp covers each of the triathlon disciplines on the actual course of the Patriot Half. In addition, important topics are covered such as transition, race day nutrition, and mental training. The goal of this training camp is to help people who are new to this distance have a successful race at the Patriot Half on June 15, 2013.

  • Register 4/19/13 to the close of online registration: $200
  • Day of camp registration: $225

What your registration covers

Registration for the Patriot Half Training Camp includes a full day camp managed by USAT Certified coaches as well as snack and lunch. All athletes will also receive a swag bag with items from sponsors, organizers of the Patriot Half and Vmps.


About Vmps

The Patriot Half Training Camp will be led by the coaches from Vmps (Vescio Multisport Performance Coaches) which includes Elaine Vescio, Don Vescio, Tonya Spagnuolo, Marc Saucier and Jen Goff. Refund Policy

Participants may receive a refund minus a $25 processing fee if a refund request is made prior to April 30, 2013. All refund requests must be made in writing to info@vmpstraining.com. No refund requests will be processed after April 30, 2013.

8:15AM-8:30AM: Welcome/Introduction (on the beach)

8:30AM-10AM: Open water swim clinic

10AM-10:30AM: Break (snacks provided)

10:30AM-11AM: Seminar on cycling tips, techniques & strategies

11AM-11:15AM: Prepare for bike ride

11:15 AM-1PM: Ride bike course (28 mi)

1PM-2PM: Lunch (provided)

2PM-2:30PM: Seminar on race day nutrition

2:30PM-3:30PM: Running clinic; includes short run of the course

3:30PM-4:15PM: Seminar on tapering & mental strategies

4:15pm: Wrap-up

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
