Brief Description

By incorporating sprint triathlon distances, Durango Parks and Recreation created a practical race for the beginner triathlete as well as the seasoned veteran, looking to complete a competitive training course. The race begins and ends at the Durango Community Recreation Center. The course includes a 500 yard swim in the lap pool, a 13 mile bike ride, and a 5K run.

Located in the Four Corners region, Durango is nestled between the mountains and the desert. US Hwy 550 intersects Durango from the north and the south, while US Hwy 160 crosses Durango from the east and the west.

Directions from the south

Follow US Highway 550 north to Durango. US Highway 550 becomes Camino Del Rio and then Main Ave. Follow Main Ave. north. Turn right at 27th street at 2700 Main Ave.

Directions from the north

Follow US Highway 550 south to Durango. US Highway 550 becomes Main Ave. Follow Main Ave. south. Turn left at 27th street at 2700 Main Ave.

Additional Information

Racers may participant individually or as a team. Helmets are required for the bike ride and closed toe shoes are required for the bike ride and run. Following the race, gather at the Recreation Center with friends and family to share in the success of the day. Awards and prizes will be presented and refreshments will be available to all participants.
