Brief Description

.5 Mile swim), 17.1 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Purpose: DRAGONFLY Kid's Camp

Dragonfly Heart Camp is a very special summer camp for children who have received a heart and/or lung transplant, or are diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. It is the first camp in the country that is specifically designed to accommodate children with these complex cardio-pulmonary conditions.

Packet Pick Up will be available afternoon Saturday as well as Race Morning. Bike Racking will be Race Morning. Location for Packet Pick Up will be at Wilmer Park. Other race details will be sent out the week prior to the race. However, if you have any questions, let us know.

SWIM

The Start will be from the Washington College dock, transition to their bikes in Wilmer Park


Bike

The 17.1 mile loop course is on paved, flat rural roads. Racers will enjoy the view of the Chester River. Roads will be open to traffic .


Run

The 3.1 mile run is a scenic out and back run through historic Chestertown. Finish in style, where your fans and cold refreshments will be waiting.

Race Divisions Include: Male & Female ages: 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. Overall Athena (150+ and Clydesdale (200+), and Relay Teams Teams must be made up of two or three participating members. Awards will be offered to the overall top 2 for both men and women and overall top finishing relays. The awards ceremony will start at 12 pm.

There will be a cutoff for official race results with the race time limit of 2 hours and 40 minutes. At 2 hours and 40 minutes the official timed finish line will shut down. A time clock will continue running for all participants that finish after the time cutoff. It is hoped that all participants will finish the race in less than 2 hours and 40 minutes .

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
