Award Divisions

Olympic and Sprint Individual Age Groups: Youth 10/under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 Men & Women18-19, 20-24. 5-year groups through 70, 75/older. Clydesdale & Athena (Men 200 lbs., Women 150 lbs.). 39/under, 40/older. Relays: Women, Coed, Men's & Youth three-person teams for Olympic distance only.

Refunds and Transfers

No refunds or Rain Checks. If you cannot or do not plan to participate, you maybe able to transfer your entry place to another person. Requirements for transferring your entry and a down loadable transfer form are on www.CarpinteriaTriathlon.com. **Increased Fees**

Substantially increased fees by the California Parks Division have required us to raise entry fees by $15 for the Olympic divisions, $10 for the Sprint divisions and $20 for the relay teams. The new fee structure will go into effect on May 24th.

Additional Information

Entries are limited to 900 individuals and teams. The cutoff for online registration has been moved back to midnight September 3. Online registration will cutoff before September 3 if our limit is reached earlier.
All entrants must be registered with the USAT (United States of America Triathlon Federation). If you do not have a current USAT license, individuals and members of relay teams must each pay $10 for a one-day USAT license. NOTE THAT YOUTHS AGE 17 & UNDER ON 12/31/2010 MUST GET A ONE-YEAR LICENSE FOR $5 FROM USAT BEFORE ENTERING. THEY MAY NOT ENTER WITH A ONE-DAY LICENSE.

The Olympic Course is a 1.5K swim, 40K ride and 10K run. The Sprint course is a 500m swim, 15K ride and 5K run. Relay teams do the Olympic course.
Wave starts are separated by 6 minutes. There will a 25 minute delay between the start of the last Olympic wave and the first Sprint wave.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
