Brief Description

The Tri for Preservation presented by Noyes, Hall & Allen Insurance features an ocean swim at beautiful Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth Maine, only minutes from Portland, ME. The sprint triathlon, aquabike and triathlon relay features a 500 yard ocean swim (in a protected cove), a 14 mile bike past farmland and marshlands, and a 3 mile run. NEW for 2012 - Duathlon features a 1.5 mile run, 14 mile bike and 3 mile run.

Cancellation Policy

50% refund with cancellation prior to July 19, 2012; no refunds after July 19, 2012.

The Tri for Preservation benefits the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust's efforts to preserve natural woodlands, marshes, farmlands and shorelands for the enjoyment of this, and future generations.

Maine Senior Games State Qualifier

The Tri for Preservation is proud to serve as the 2012 venue for the Maine Senior Games Triathlon, the state qualifier for the national competition.

113 Fund in Memory of David Aschauer

The Tri for Preservation has established the 113 Fund in memory of David Aschauer. The 113 Fund will support a summer internship program in the Economic Department of Bates College.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
