Brief Description

Formerly the CELT Challenge Triathlon, the Tri for Preservation presented by Noyes, Hall & Allen Insurance now features an ocean swim at beautiful Crescent Beach State Park in Cape Elizabeth Maine, only minutes from Portland, ME. The sprint triathlon, aquabike (new for 2011) and triathlon relay features a 500 yard ocean swim (in a protected cove), a 14 mile bike past farmland and marshlands, and a 3 mile run.

Register by March 31, 2011, and receive $5.00 off your registration.

Cancellation Policy

50% refund with cancellation prior to July 21, 2011; no refunds after July 21, 2011.

Event Benefits the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust

The Tri for Preservation benefits the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust's efforts to preserve natural woodlands, marshes, farmlands and shorelands for the enjoyment of this, and future generations. $5.00 off your registration when you register before March 21, 2011.

Maine Senior Games State Qualifier

The Tri for Preservation is proud to serve as the 2011 venue for the Maine Senior Games Triathlon, the state qualifier for the national competition.

Additional Information

Wave Start (6 waves), Chip Timing. Registration includes pancake breakfast, choice of Race Beach Towel or T-shirt (when registering before 08/07/11, park entrance fee for the day, and sponsor gifts.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States. Participation in a USAT sanctioned event means the event director has the proper permits in place, liability and athlete excess medical insurance coverage and the event plan has met the standard of organization required. USA Triathlon provides rules, guidance and governance to set the standard for safe and fair multi-sport races.
