Sunday, July 25, 2010: Long course race starts at 8:30am; 1200-yd Swim, 16-mi Mtn Bike 6-mi Run The bike course has a lot of single track, double track and some dirt road and run course is all trail. A very scenic triathlon offering amazing views! Short course race will take place at 9:30am and is about one-half the distance.
Views of the Gallatin Mountain Range and several glaciated valleys are visible from all over the course-if the course doesn't steal your breath, the scenery will! This race is located on USFS land and will be open to the public at all times. Enjoy!Wetsuits will be mandatory since water temps are in high 50s to low 60s.
Besides a great time, a challenging course and scenery that you will never forget, your entry includes a pair of DeFeet athletic socks, swim cap, lots of raffle items from our local and national sponsors and many photo ops!

LONG COURSE: Pint Glasses awarded to top finishers in each age group and the top relay in each category. CASH PRIZES to the top overall male & female finishers. AND back again, we will offer a $100 swim premium to the fastest individual swimmer! Also, we are awarding emboidered swim towels to the top overall masters male & female...maybe it could be you! SHORT COURSE: Pint glasses to the top finisher in each age group: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+

This is a USAT sanctioned event, all participants must be members. A One-day Adult membership (insurance) cost is $10.00 and a youth annual membership is $5.00.
Saturday, July 24 from 2 pm until 7pm, packet pick up and registration will take place at race venue. Eventhough we discourage it, we will have race day packet pick-up at the finish line/transition area, please arrive prior to 7am! Please bring your ID and USAT card if your are a member. We apologize, there are no refunds.
The short course race begins at 9:30am and is designed specifically for beginner triathletes. The short course race is less technical and about one-half the distance of the XTERRA course. However, there are portions of the bike course that may be considered somewhat technical to beginner mountain bikers. Please be aware that you may walk any part of the course (except the swim) at anytime.
Gallatin Alpine Sports will provide a bike mechanic on duty prior to the start of this event. Please, No major fix-its during this time. If you need technical assistance during your visit to Bozeman area, then call G.A.S. at 406-995-2313

From I-90, take the 19th Ave exit and go south towards downtown Bozeman. Follow 19th avenue south through town and continue following 19th Ave. until the road bends to the right (west). Approximately, 1 mile west of the big bend in road will be the Hyalite Canyon Road turn-off. Turn left onto Hyalite Canyon Road and go about 9 miles until you get to Hyalite Reservoir/dam. The transition area and finish line will be straight ahead-drop offs only.
