Brief Description

This 2nd annual open water swim hosted by Swim Las Vegas will feature a scenic 8k point to point swim as well as 1.2 mile and 2.4 mile distances for triathletes to fine tune their open water skills. The only race of it's kind in southern Nevada, you'll be able to "Double Down" by entering 2 events back to back!* (*time restrictions apply) SWIMMERS AGE 13-17 YOU MUST BE MEMBERS WITH USAT AND CAN NOT REGISTER ONLINE. USMS

You must be a registered member of US Master Swimmers to participate in this event and bring a copy of your current membership card to packet pick up or race day check-in.

USAT

Please bring a copy of your USAT membership card to packet pick up or race day check-in.

NON MEMBERS- RACE DAY

If you are over 18 years old, not a member of USAT or USMS, you must pay $10 for race coverage on the day of the event. Please plan accordingly and bring exact change.

"SLAM" Swimmers

Please review cutoff times for each distance. You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your second race. No refunds will be given for missed start times.

Kayak Information

All swimmers participating in the 8K or Grand Slam or Swimmers age 13-17 must have a kayak escort. Out of town guests should reserve kayaks in advance as they may sell out at www.kayaklasvegas.com No kayak, no swim.

Swimmers Under 18 yrs old*

There is a separate registration form for swimmers age 13-17. Please visit our website to mail it in. You will need coaches approval, provide your own kayaker, be a member of USA Triathlon (USAT provides an annual membership for $5) and check in on race day with a parent or guardian.

Additional Information

Participants will receive an event shirt and finisher awards. The 1.2 mile swim is the SPMA 2011 SW Zone Open Water Championships.

Sanctioning

USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the sports of triathlon, duathlon, winter triathlon and aquathlon in the United States.
