Brief Description

4 scenic&challenging events in the Sierra foothills town of Auburn, CA: 9th annual World's Toughest Half (1.2mi-56mi-13.1mi), Sprint Tri(1k-30k-7k), Mini Tri (500m-13k-4k), and Long Course Duathlon. Relay divisions available in each event.

Enjoy unrivaled participant goodies, fabulous commemorative awards, lavish post-race meal, the incredible beauty and challenge of this one-of-a-kind course and a grass roots, athlete-focused feel.

9th Annual World's Toughest Half: 1.2-56-13.1mi

World's Toughest Half: Depart from the bland routes with overcrowded fields and enjoy a true adventure into the Sierra. The ultimate athlete-focused, old school race from former top pro Brad Kearns.

A favorite of legends Simon Whitfield, Tim and Nicole DeBoom, Scott Molina, Andrew MacNaughton, Gina Kehr, Steve Larsen, coach/athlete legends Tim Sheeper, Pete Kain and Gordo Byrn.

Long Course Duathlon: 3k-56mi-13.1mi

Long Course Duathlon: Hosted the 2008 and 2009 USAT National Long Course Championship!

After opening 3k run along the lakeshore, duathletes enter T1 and race head to head with half-iron athletes to the finish line! Run/bike distance ratios are 26%, equal to that of Zofingen and similar to Powerman events.

Sprint Tri: 1k-30k-7k

Sprint Tri: Debuted in 2010 with 300 entrants and rave reviews! A steady 13-mile climb on the bike with a screaming 5-mile return to the finish line! A great challenge for those honing their speed for the summer season or first-timers looking for a do-able challenge!

NEW Mini Tri: 500m-13k-4k

Mini Tri: Auburn offers something for everyone! The Mini Tri features amiable distances but plenty of challenge on the 8-mile bike course, climbing 900' from lake to finish line, then run 4k (moderate descent and moderate climb. First half is smooth water canal trail, followed by smooth pavement). This is a safe, fun challenge for novices with auto-free bike and run courses, no signals, no sketchy descents.
