USAT Sets Qualifiers for 2011 ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships

With the recent addition of the 2011 ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships to the multisport world championship schedule, USA Triathlon has announced the Team USA qualifying races for this off-road triathlon event.

The inaugural ITU Cross Triathlon World Championships, slated for April 30, 2011, in Extremadura, Spain, will give both age-group and elite athletes the chance to compete for off-road world titles. Much like XTERRA events, cross triathlon features hilly and technical off-road legs on both the bike and run.

The four qualifying events for the 2011 cross triathlon world championships are:

The top five spots per age group (with roll down to 10th place after the age-up rule) at each race will earn a spot on Team USA.
