Brief Description

Covers what it takes to have a positive Ironman or 70.3 experience, whether it is your first time or a repeat performance including (1) How to best utilize your available training time to achieve your race goals while minimizing risk of injury, overtraining and burnout; (2) What it takes to qualify for World Championships; (3) the use of Power and Heart Rate training; and (4) a Step-by-step guide to race week.

Instructors-Anthony Carillo

Anthony Carillo is a USAT Certified Level 1 triathlon coach with the Asphalt Green Triathlon Club in NYC. Anthony raced for Team USA in the 2002 Long Course World Championship in Nice, France and has achieved multiple USAT “All American Honors”. Anthony has an Ironman PR of 9:43 (Ironman California 2001) and a marathon PR of 2:50 (Boston 1996). Anthony is the creator of Iron Yoga.

Ben Lloyd

Is an Englishman and USAT Certified Level 1 triathlon coach with the Asphalt Green Triathlon Club in NYC. He has raced 13 Ironman triathlons including 4 Hawaii Ironman World Championships (2006/7/8/9). Highlights include multiple USAT “All American Honours” an Iroman PR of 9:43 (BRAZIL 2006), a marathon PR of 2:54 (NYC 2008) and numerous podiums in area triathlons. Outside of triathlon Ben works on Wall Street in HY sales and enjoys skiing and playing tennis when he has the time.

3 things attendees will learn: (1) Whether or not you are ready to race long course triathlons (half or full iron distance) and what it takes to have a positive 1st long course triathlon experience; (2) What it takes to qualify for the Hawaii Ironman World Championship or Clearwater 70.3 World Championship; and (3) How to best utilize your available training time to achieve your race goals while minimizing risk of injury, overtraining and burnout.
