Brief Description

Although a “six pack” set of abs may look good, they are no indication of endurance strength or functionality of your core. 2 out of 3 adults will experience lower back problems from natural degenerative changes, 4 out of 5 will suffer pain severe enough to warrant medical care. 72% of triathletes report back pain. If you have a weak core you're an “accident waiting to happen”.

3 THINGS ATTENDEES WILL LEARN:

1. Understand the importance of the core musculature. 2. Differentiate between the stabilization system and the movement system of the core. 3. Design a core conditioning program

SPEAKER

Paul Frediani, Head Triathlon Coach JCC, NYC, USAT1, USAC3, ACSM, CHEK 1. Author 'TRI POWER, Strength Training for Endurance Athletes..

Additional Information

In this 90 minute workshop you learn the basics of the anatomical structure of both the inner and outer core. We will access core strength and then learn how to develop a proper core conditioning program consisting of three progressive phases, stabilization, strength and power. A properly conditioned core will certainly enhance performance and reduce the risk of lower back pain. Because although it's great to “go fast” it's even better to be able to “go”.
