Brief Description

This workshop is designed to help you create an optimal nutrition plan that will maximize recovery, improve performance during training or racing, and minimize the deleterious effects of glycogen depletion.

What you will learn

Covering nutrition planning from training through racing and recovery, attendees will learn how to (1) Develop a personal nutrition plan for optimal training; (2) Plan nutrient intake during a taper including the pre-race meal; (3) Develop a race day nutrition plan covering fluid, carbohydrate, and sodium intake; (4) Plan optimal post exercise nutrition strategies to maximize recovery.

Presenter

Jeffrey T. Godin Ph.D., CSCS, HFPD, CISSN. Jeff is owner of Blackstone Valley Human Performance with his wife Tammy. He has a doctorate in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from the University of Connecticut and has been active in the fitness industry for more than 15. He is also an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Exercise and Sport Science Department at Fitchburg State College, where he has also managed the Fitness Center and designed strength and conditioning programs for the athletes.

Time and Duration

This is a 2-hour workshop that will begin at 11AM and be held in the Media Room on the first floor of the Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center at MIT (right down the hall from the Multisport World expo floor).
